Who We Are
I started Mense Law Firm, LLC partly because of my parents. You see, as my parents became older and started having health issues, I went looking for answers. I searched to find the best way to help my parents through the aging process. In a quest to find these answers, I decided to help others who were in a similar situation. With the support of my wife and two children, I returned to school to obtain my law degree from the University Of Dayton School Of Law. Mense Law Firm, LLC is focused on the unique needs of adults. We sit down with you, ask questions, listen to what you say, and work with you and your family to find solutions that meet your needs. Together with Denise, Office Manager, Candace and Danielle our Legal Assistants, and our two daughters, we will work with you, to provide the best solution for YOU! Mense Law Firm, LLC is a family operation. We consider our employees and clients to be part of our family. While we are human, and face the same challenges as other families, we continuously strive to better ourselves and provide everyone with the care, attention, and support they deserve and need.
I earned my law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law, where I developed a strong foundation in advocacy, client counseling, and thoughtful legal planning. After law school, I chose to return home and join my family’s practice because I believe deeply in the mission of Mense Law Firm—helping families navigate aging, protect their assets, and make informed decisions during some of life’s most important transitions. One of the aspects I value most about my work is that Mense Law Firm is truly a family business. I am grateful to work alongside my father, my mother, and my husband each day, serving families with the same care, respect, and dedication that we would want for our own. That family-centered approach shapes how we practice law and how we support our clients. At Mense Law Firm, I take pride in listening closely to our clients’ concerns and goals. Estate planning and elder law are never one-size-fits-all, and I work collaboratively with clients and their families to create personalized plans that reflect their values, protect what they have worked hard to build, and provide clarity for the future. Brian’s first career decision began with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of DeVry in Kansas City. After graduation, Brian worked for a couple of technology firms, working his way to a Regional Manager position. Then after the birth of Brian’s second child, Brian wanted to spend more time with his wife and two children. Brian and his wife then worked together managing real estate rental property and started a home repair business. After selling the repair business, Brian went back to school to obtain his law degree from the University of Dayton in two years and opened the law office after a short internship with Missouri Attorney General’s Office. 
Candace Cederblade (Candy) is our Legal Assistant in our Warrenton office. Candy was born in Rockford, Illinois. Her parents moved to Warren County when Candy was a child, and she has lived her ever since. Candy has a long history of working as an assistant. Her attention to detail and work ethics is exceptional. Candy is also a live-in caregiver for her parents. This makes Candy a perfect choice as a team member because she understands the challenges associated with family members aging. 
Danielle Hey is our Legal Assistant in our Washington office. Danielle was born and raised in St. Charles County and has lived in the local area for many years. She met her husband while in high school, they married and have four wonderful children. Danielle has many years of customer service experience, and it shows. She is great with our clients, always willing to spend time talking with them and helping them in anyway that she is able. Danielle is a great asset to our team. Andy Lambert is a legal assistant at Mense Law Firm, LLC and plays an important role in the firm’s day-to-day operations. He works closely with the attorneys and staff to help ensure that clients receive timely, organized, and attentive service throughout the estate planning and elder law process. Andy’s support helps keep the office running smoothly so the team can focus on serving clients effectively. Outside of the office, Andy enjoys spending time with his wife, Nicole, and their dog, Nova. He is also actively involved in the community as a youth baseball coach. His commitment to teamwork, patience, and mentorship carries over into his work at the firm, where he enjoys supporting both the Mense Law team and the families they serve. 
Denise Mense is the office manager. Denise and Brian were married in 1993. Denise started out working for stock market brokerage firms. After Denise and Brian were married, Denise obtained her real estate agent and broker’s license. Denise worked as an agent and then managed a local real estate office for about three years before deciding to stay home with their first child. While staying at home, she developed and managed many real estate projects. Denise is the office manager for Mense Law Firm, LLC, manages the rental properties, and raising two wonderful daughters, Nicole and Paige. 
Paige Mense, Brian's youngest daughter, is an accountant who supports Mense Law Firm by assisting with bookkeeping and financial organization, helping ensure the firm operates efficiently and responsibly. In addition to her work with Mense Law Firm, she owns and operates her own accounting firm, where she provides accounting and bookkeeping services to individuals and small businesses. As part of a family-run operation, she values accuracy, transparency, and reliability, and takes pride in contributing her expertise to support both the firm and the families it serves.
